our boat

Local Mocean Charters' 35 foot Intrepid, Salt & Pepper, is sleek, roomy, comfortable, and can easily accommodate up to 12 passengers without feeling crowded. This center console now has brand new twin Mercury 300 engines, a large, wide back seat, and two large sun seats on the bow - that with the touch of a button - turn into lounge chairs. There are plenty of cup holders, a large cooler and great JL Audio speakers strategically placed around the boat, with a Bluetooth phone hook-up. Our personal favorite part of the boat is the dive door, which makes getting on and off the boat a breeze, especially with snorkel gear on! We provide snorkel gear and noodle floats for your comfort.

our captains

Here's a few words with our main man, Captain Tony, who was born and raised in the Virgin Islands. He grew up on Water Island - a tiny island off of St. Thomas - and took a boat to school every day. After earning his college degree in Business Management he decided his true passion was to be on the water everyday, and got his U.S. Coast Guard 100 ton captains license. His lifelong knowledge of cruising the waters of the beautiful U.S. Virgin Islands makes him the perfect guide for your trip.

The most amazing places to visit in the U.S. Virgin Islands are only accessible by boat. Our Captains with Local Mocean Charters can show you the secrets hidden among caves, beach bars and reefs, while avoiding the crowds or joining the party. If your perfect day includes a little adventure, a little relaxing, or a little of both, just ask us for recommendations based on your ideal, customized day in paradise.

Perfect Day on the Water
It was a beautiful day to be on the water! We spent the day with Captain Tony on the "Salt and Pepper". It's a beautiful boat and very comfortable. Captain Tony was welcoming and made us feel at ease from the moment we appeared on the pier. Jim and I were vacationing with our 17 year old granddaughters, Grace and Kara. He is so knowledgeable about the islands and we all learned a lot. Captain Tony made the trip interesting for the girls- not always easy with teens! The one thing the girls most wanted to do on vacation was snorkeling, though they had never done it before. Captain Tony fitted them with fins and masks and gave them instructions. They loved it! He took them to several places and showed them the reefs and a shipwreck where they could see the prettiest fish and giant sea turtles. We bought pizzas for lunch at the Pizza Pi- a boat anchored off St. Thomas. We had a great time. Captain Tony is the best!
Don't miss this cruise!"

Family Trip
Tony did a phenomenal job of making a memorable day not only for my boys, but for my parents as well. As toddlers my kids heard stories of clear waters, grand hospitality and good times to be had in the Caribbean. Captain Tony helped make these stories a reality. Taking a stressed out mom, a relaxed co parent, two obnoxious boys and their proud grandparents out for a day they will never forget! Captain Tony and his family understand the heritage of the Island, and treat your family as there own.
He combines common sense with a few good stories and leaves the rest to you! Not overbearing, but was an amazing help to my mother and my kids at the same time! Hope to see him again!"

Amazing day with Captain Tony on the water in the Virgin Islands
"We did a day charter with Captain Tony leaving out of St John with ten people including six kids. To say that it was a great day would be a major understatement. Tony knows the waters, where to go and what to do. We showed up at the dock and just bounced a few ideas around and took off for the day. Snorkeling in a few different places, went to Willy T's for lunch and jumped off the second story, went shell hunting on Sandy Spit and hit the Soggy Dollar for a couple of cocktails. Tony was great with the kids and telling them where to go and what to do. The boat was amazing and the sound system only adds to what is a great day. If you are lucky enough to get down to that part of the world, find Tony and let him show you his backyard. You might not want to leave...:) . Worth every penny spent."
