Local Mocean Charters (pronounced Local "Motion") is a locally owned and operated St. Thomas and St. John boat rental company. We offer 5-star rated, private, curated charters led by seasoned, local captains in the beautiful U.S. Virgin Islands. While we used to travel to the British Virgin Islands, currently the BVI is not accepting day charters to enter their borders.

AN INTERVIEW WITH CAPTAIN TONY
Here's a few words with our main man, Captain Tony, who was born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He grew up on Water Island - a tiny island off of St. Thomas - and took a boat to school every day. After earning his college degree in Business Management he decided his true passion was to be on the water everyday, and got his U.S. Coast Guard 100 ton captains license. His lifelong knowledge of cruising the waters of the beautiful U.S. Virgin Islands makes him the perfect guide for your trip.
PRICES
FULL DAY USVI CHARTER
7 Hours
• Starting at $750
• Captain Fee is $200
• Max 12 people (Add $100 per person over 6 passengers.)
• Fuel usage is calculated & charged at the end of trip
Because we do not need to check into the BVI we have more time to play! We suggest a start time between the hours of 8 am and 10 am. Fuel costs may range from $100-$200 based on usage. Additional hours are available for $100/hr
HALF DAY USVI CHARTER
4 HOUR CHARTER
• Starting at $525
• Captain Fee is $125
• Max 12 people (Add $100 per person over 6 passengers.)
• Fuel usage is calculated & charged at the end of trip
Half day charters are perfect for anyone but especially for cruise ship guests who only have limited time for a boat rental during the hours the cruise ship is at port.
SUNSET CRUISE
2 Hours
• Starting at $350
• Captain Fee is $100
• Max 12 people (Add $100 per person over 6 passengers.)
• Fuel usage is calculated & charged at the end of trip
Grab your champagne and sit back to watch sunset on our 2 hour sunset cocktail cruise & adventure. Go for an evening swim, grab drinks or dinner at in Cruz Bay, or at Lovango and relax until dark.
FUEL, CUSTOMS & GRATUITY
The prices listed above do not include fuel. We fuel the boats on our own time. On charter we keep track of fuel usage on our digital fuel gage and will multiply it by the price at the pump at end of your charter. If you are traveling to the British Virgin Islands there will be a $70 customs charge per person. This is to be paid in cash to the captain at the beginning of the trip. There is also an extra $20 charge on BVI Holidays and Sundays.

AMAZING DAY WITH CAPTAIN TONY ON THE WATER IN THE VIRGIN ISLANDS
"We did a day charter with Captain Tony leaving out of St John with ten people including six kids. To say that it was a great day would be a major understatement. Tony knows the waters, where to go and what to do. We showed up at the dock and just bounced a few ideas around and took off for the day. Snorkeling in a few different places, went to Willy T's for lunch and jumped off the second story, went shell hunting on Sandy Spit and hit the Soggy Dollar for a couple of cocktails. Tony was great with the kids and telling them where to go and what to do. The boat was amazing and the sound system only adds to what is a great day. If you are lucky enough to get down to that part of the world, find Tony and let him show you his backyard. You might not want to leave...:) . Worth every penny spent."

PERFECT DAY ON THE WATER
It was a beautiful day to be on the water! We spent the day with Captain Tony on the "Salt and Pepper". It's a beautiful boat and very comfortable. Captain Tony was welcoming and made us feel at ease from the moment we appeared on the pier. Jim and I were vacationing with our 17 year old granddaughters, Grace and Kara. He is so knowledgeable about the islands and we all learned a lot. Captain Tony made the trip interesting for the girls- not always easy with teens! The one thing the girls most wanted to do on vacation was snorkeling, though they had never done it before. Captain Tony fitted them with fins and masks and gave them instructions. They loved it! He took them to several places and showed them the reefs and a shipwreck where they could see the prettiest fish and giant sea turtles. We bought pizzas for lunch at the Pizza Pi- a boat anchored off St. Thomas. We had a great time. Captain Tony is the best! Don't miss this cruise!"
